State of the game - August 2020

👋 This month, we overhauled the game creation system.

Places and components

As announced the past month, the game creation system has been completely overhauled to incorporate additional themes and game mechanics.

The available game types have also been changed to allow you to vary the game significantly:

  • Quick Play allows you to have an opponent quickly and without modifiers

  • Challenge of the Day has a theme and modifier that changes daily. The first part of each day doubles your earnings.

  • Versus Thematic gives you a unique theme and modifier for the cycle. You only gain mana shards if you win. The theme and modifier will join the Daily Challenge at the end of the cycle.

Cycle tournaments are no longer present, as well as their associated rewards. They will be back from time to time to help you win the premium version cards.

This new architecture will be available on September 4th.

UX / UI improvements

It appeared to us that some of you were confused about the cosmetics obtainable in Arena. To answer this problem, we are going to add a “collection” part with all the types of cosmetics present: holos, styles and card sleeves.

Finally, still in this perspective of improving UX, the triumphs will be classified into several categories because we have planned to add a fairly large amount.

The Cycle of Harvest

The development of the Harvest Cycle is now complete. This new cycle (to be released on September the 4th) will invite you to fight in the Wasted Fields with the “Harvesting Souls” modifier.

This modifier will heal you for one hit point each time you destroy a creature.

Quest and craft system

We have started the quest and craft system. New quests will be available each day (for daily quests) and each week (for weekly quests). Daily Quests will give you Mana Shards, and Weekly Quests will give you runes useful for crafting cosmetics.

The quest system will be available from September 4th, and the crafting system the following week.

New target rotation

The targets to take down (namely Crevior, Adovius, Rhosior and Drebus) will be available every Wednesday evening, with a rotation every week. The associated triumphs are always granted in the event of victory.

The return of the corsairs!

Corsairs will make their comeback periodically. Their next visit will be from September 7 to 10.

We also made some adjustments to the trade prices:

  • Exchange at Corsairs: 5 Golden Galleons → 2 Golden Galleons

  • Corsair Card Sleeves: 50 Golden Galleons → 20 Golden Galleons

  • Corsair Style: 100 Golden Galleons → 40 Golden Galleons

The Seasonal Cosrairs Shop will also see new items in the future.
